Professor Shirley Randell will speak about her experiences working within Women’s Leadership across the world and Global Education. #DMULocal students will present a case study on their time volunteering in India, followed by a panel Q&A with Professor Randell and #DMULocal students, providing guests with an opportunity to participate in the wider discussion.
Professor Shirley Randell
AO, PhD, Hon.DLittWorld renowned for her work assisting women in Rwanda in the aftermath of the genocide, Professor Randell has led an important and eminent career as an educator and reformer around the globe.
Recognised in the 100 Australian Women of Influence and 100 World of Difference Awards, she has been named an Officer of the Order of Australia. An alumnus of the Universities of Canberra and New England, she has dedicated her life to the furtherance of education.
Some of her major endeavours have been focused around building women's leadership, post-conflict reconciliation and international development. Her years of service in Bangladesh and Rwanda have contributed to great improvements in women's empowerment.
She will be discussing in depth her work to date and its impact on the wider field of global education.
