De Montfort University alumni Mark Esho & entrepreneur Saleem Arif will be hosting an employability workshop focusing on developing the leadership skills they have learnt in their own careers and personal experiences.
MBA, East Midlands IoD Director of the Year 2019
Mark Esho graduated from De Montfort University in 1994 after obtaining an MBA.
When Mark was five years old, he was paralysed overnight due to contracting Polio, but beat the odds to survive and thrive.
Mark has overcome what others might perceive as insurmountable obstacles. His positive, can-do mindset has meant that not only did he finish his studies and graduate from De Montfort University, but he went on to become the Founder of several successful businesses - Easy Internet Services, a digital marketing agency, Easy Internet Solutions, a web hosting company and Dreme, a property investment company.
In 2013 he was invited to meet the former Prime Minister David Cameron at the launch of the Disability Confident campaign and since then has given talks with MPs and representatives of the DWP on the merit of employing disabled people.
In 2018 Mark’s autobiography, I Can. I Will. became a number one best seller on Amazon. He now spends his time running the three businesses, working with the DWP (Department of Work and Pensions) and public speaking at events.
Mark hopes to teach you that it doesn’t matter what obstacales life throws at you - it’s how you respond that counts!
Saleem Arif is a serial entrepreneur, establishing his first enterprise, a recruitment publishing business whilst still an undergraduate at Cambridge University.
He subsequently launched his most notable endeavour, QualitySolicitors, from the De Montfort University Innovation Centre in 2009. Making use of the great facilities on offer, he and his partner had achieved £7 million annual turnover within just 3-years. After rebranding over 300 law firms, they sold the business for an eight-figure sum.
He has since continued to succeed, starting and growing the companies ReviewSolicitors and Spacemize. Saleem achieved an MBA from London Business School where he holds the position of Entrepreneur in Residence.
Saleem will describe his journey to success and explain the challenges he’s faced along the way.
