The Learning Beyond Registration provision covers a range of programmes for Nurses, Midwives and Allied Health Professionals. Registered Nurses, Registered Midwives and Registered Allied Health Professionals are able to choose from various general and career specific undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
The philosophy underpinning these programmes/modules is the belief that post registration undergraduate (degree level 6) and postgraduate (masters level 7) study builds upon professional education and experience, through a range of flexible, speciality focused learning opportunities which promote lifelong learning and fitness for purpose, practice and award. You will therefore be challenged to consider the socio-economic, political and professional factors that influence healthcare demands and provision
The provision can be matched to suit personal needs and career aspirations, enabling prospective practitioners to study at a pace that suits their needs and where relevant, the needs of their employer. When appropriate, prior learning and experience are also accredited through Accreditation of Prior Learning (APL).
Nursing and Midwifery programmes provide teaching and learning for a range of health service careers. Some of the programmes will lead to professional accreditation or a recordable qualification regulated by the NMC.
The Allied Health Professional programmes provide teaching and learning for a range of health service careers, all of which are all regulated by the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC).
