Enhancing learning through technology
A 21st century learning experience should be supported by innovative ways of teaching, and we see technology as an important catalyst for this. Whether it's social networking, wikis, blogs and podcasts, or open resources, Enhancing Learning through Technology covers a huge range of technologies.
Technology inside and outside the classroom should nurture, stimulate and enhance the experience of our students. Examples vary, but have included an online jukebox for music technology students, the library's social media engagement and 'mashing' information so that it's easier to find and use.
Led by our ELT centre, this strand will focus on personalisation, social learning, open education and sustainability within the curriculum. We will also ensure that every student will be able to submit their work electronically and receive feedback online.
We already have a number of distance learning courses, and we will seek to expand this mode of learning to take advantage of our international courses.
The proliferation of technology will allow students to become active members of the learning community, produce their own knowledge and innovate.
"The end-game is empowering students and giving them confidence to learn."
