Developing students

We have a continual focus on developing your skills for study and employment. From the moment you arrive at DMU, we will support you in your transition to higher education, with an induction that continues throughout your first year.

A student-staff partnership is at the heart of this, with embedded study skills included on all of our courses, and other means of support detailed on our academic support page.

Learning opportunities extend beyond the classroom, and we have outstanding facilities for further study and three learning zones. You will also our virtual learning environments and draw on the support of your personal tutor to develop as an independent learner.

The library can help you improve your academic practice, writing development and professional skills through the Centre for Learning and Study Support or your maths skills through the Maths Learning Centre.
