Personal profile

Xin Lu received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from the Harbin Institute of Technology, Harbin, China, in 2008 and 2010, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in computer science from the University of Warwick, Coventry, U.K., in 2013. His PhD thesis was awarded the Warwick Faculty of Science Prize for the Best PhD Thesis in Computer Science in 2014.             

 

 

He is currently a Senior Lecturer with the School of Computer Science and Informatics at De Montfort University in Leicester, UK. Before joining DMU, he was a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in the School of Electronics and Information Engineering, Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) in China.                                                                                                          

 

 

His current research interests include video coding standards, data compression, deep learning, convolutional neural network, multimedia coding and transmission, and pattern recognition.
