Personal profile

Dr Reza Baserinia started his academic life at Azad University of Najafabad in Iran where he pursued a degree in mechanical engineering.

He moved to the UK to study his Masters in Advanced Mechanical Engineering at the University of Leicester where he met Dr Csaba Sinka and became interested in powder technology.

He then started his PhD studies on the “Flow of fine and cohesive powders under controlled air pressure conditions” under the supervision of Dr Sinka.

He has presented his research at recognised conferences and received two awards at the Joint IFPRI & UK Particle Technology Forum Conference and the Powder Flow 2015 conference.

Upon completion of his PhD, he worked as Research Associate at the University of Leicester for a short period before joining the De Montfort University as Lecturer.

His research interests include pharmaceutical powder processing, powder flow characterisation and discrete element modelling.
