Dr. Haibo Jia graduated from Xi’an Jiaotong University, People’s Republic of China with a BSc in Computer Science in 1996 and completed his MSc in Mechatronics Engineering in the same institution, 2002. His MSc research project is focused on "Remote Experiment based on Internet".
From 1996 to 1999, Dr. Jia worked in the computing centre of Agricultural Bank of China as software system engineer. In 2002, Dr. Jia received visiting researcher scholarship from The Open University of UK and worked in Technology faculty and successfully implemented a virtual instrument system. In 2004, Dr. Jia worked in the Knowledge Media Institute in The Open University to carry on the research in the field of Semantic Web.
Dr. Jia joined Mechatronics Research Group at De Montfort University, UK from January. He worked on the Easy Channel for Content project, jointly funded by ERDF and EMDA. In March 2006, Dr. Jia went to Glasgow Caledonian University to pursue his PhD studies. His PhD research is focused on semantic enhanced distributed decision making system. He obtained his Doctor Degree in November 2011.
In November 2009, Dr. Jia rejoined the Mechatronics Research Group as Research Assistant and works on a project called “Distributed Integrated Care Services and Systems”, which is funded by the TSB ALIP2.
