Eric holds a first class degree in Electronics and Computing and an MSc in Computer Science. His PhD was awarded by Loughborough University with a thesis concerning the visual integration of objects in augmented reality. His current research continues this interest in 3D graphics, computer vision, and augmented reality.
His industrial background is in Production Management in the Graphic Arts' industry. He has lectured in 3D Computer Graphics and Software Engineering at various UK universities, including; Coventry University, the Open University, the University of Bradford, and De Montfort University, as well as fulfilling, at various times, management responsibilities including Head of the Technology Division at DMU. He has also guest lectured on postgraduate programmes at University College London and has recently completed a 4-year term as External Examiner for postgraduate programmes in the School of Computing, Informatics and Media at the University of Bradford.
Eric is the author of two books on Computer Programming and has led a number of commercial software development projects ranging from the automated analysis of pipe survey video to augmented reality museum exhibits. His most recent work involves development of bespoke AR systems for mobile iOS platforms; iPhone and iPad.
