Ms Shona Green

I am a senior lecturer in Emergency Care at De Montfort University, Leicester.

I am the lead for DMU Health skills which is a prt of the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences which offers short courses based upon clinical skills. These include train the trainer events in IV Cannulation, IV drug administration, BLS, and flu vaccination training for pharmacists.

I run a number of modules focusing on minor illness and injury and consultation and physical examination techniques. In addition, I was the programme leader for the BSc/ PGCert in Practice Nursing which has been nominated for a prestigious Health Services Journal award 2014.

I also lead the PGDip Advanced Practice in Urgent Primary care programme, a programme developed advanced practice in GP and urgent care for nurses, paramedics and pharmacists.

My research interests are in Emergency Care and RTC simulation and my current doctoral studies are focused upon the impact of crowding within Emergency Departments. I am passionate about improving patient care within Emergency Departments through robust education which fits and meets the needs of practice
