I joined the academic team at DMU on a part-time contract on the 25th January 2016. Prior to this I worked full-time as an Assistant Professor in Midwifery at the University of Nottingham, I acted as a regional representative for MIDIRS and a peer reviewer for Midwifery journal, published by Elsevier Science.
I am a member of the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland Marce Society (UKIMS) and the East Midlands Clinical Senate. I have written and published a number of articles, book chapters and co-edited several leading midwifery textbooks, not least being the current edition of Myles textbook for Midwives now in its 16th edition (there is now an African and Indonesian edition. I have also revised and edited the recently published 3rd edition of Myles survival guide with Christine Catling, an Associate Midwifery professor in Sydney, Australia.
