Personal profile

Lucy Atkins is the Research Assistant for the Freedom to Achieve project. She is designing and implementing the evaluation strand of the project, which is working to address the difference in attainment between Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) and White students in UK Higher Education.

Prior to joining the Freedom to Achieve team, Lucy completed her PhD in Education and Technology here at DMU, under the Institute for Education Futures. Her thesis explored teachers’ digital literacy development, through a grounded-theory investigation.

Reclaim Open Learning – Innovation Contest (2013) The DigiLit Leicester Project was recognised as representative of one of the best examples of open innovation in education globally by the MacArthur Foundation, the Digital Media and Learning Hub, and MIT Media Lab.
