Dr Tim Hames is Director General at the British Venture Capital Association. He was a Lecturer in Politics at Oxford University between 1989 and 1996 specialising in American and British Government.
He has continued publishing since that point and has more than 25 pieces on US and UK public policy to his name. He worked at The Times from 1996 to 2008 where he became Assistant Editor, chief leader writer and a regular columnist and edited the newspaper as a whole on a regular basis.
He also served as Special Adviser to the Speaker of the House of Commons from 2009-2010 and continues to have a formal link to that office.
