Personal profile

I am a lecturer and researcher since 2008 and joined De Montfort University in November 2014. My research interests include financial system stability and resilience, financial networks analysis, Islamic banking and finance and learning analytics.

I have carried out research-led teaching to incorporate the recent developments in the academic literature in my lectures. This has benefited my students and provided them with the best possible learning experience.

Alongside my academic career, I am a certified professional trainer since June 2013 and I served as an external speaker for several public events about i) youth empowerment, ii) accounting for non-accountants, and iii) directing various psychological games to assist the participants in understanding cognitive and psychological concepts from the field of behavioural finance.
