Mark's interests are in community engagement, public engagement through research, universities as a public good, policies on tackling social exclusion through education and social mobility. He is currently manager of the award-winning DMU Square Mile programme that seeks to connect the university with the community demonstrate the university as a public good.
Mark's research examines policies that encourage public good in Higher Education and investigates university strategies for tackling social exclusion in local communities.
