Lisa qualified as a chartered accountant in 2004 while working as an auditor in a large regional accountancy practice. Once qualified she moved to work as a group accountant for a FTSE listed company working on group and company financial statements.
Following the birth of her children she moved into professional education training and worked for BPP (BPP University) as a financial reporting and taxation lecturer. During this period she was a subject specialist for the company on financial reporting and the ICAEW liason manager for the business.
LIsa joined DMU in December 2010 as a senior lecturer specialising in compliance accounting and has worked in the financial reporting, audit and taxation team throughout her time at and is the programme leader for BA Accounting and Finance
Lisa's main areas of research interest are:
The education of millenial student and the impact that the generational change has had on teaching styles within higher education.
The use of published financial accounting data to validate legitimacy and accountability for the actions of the company and its Directors.
