Personal profile

Fatima Malik is a Lecturer in HRM and Organizational Behaviour and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Originally from a science background (Analytical chemistry & process quality assurance - MSc), Fatima has taught extensively within the areas of Employability, Human Resource Management and Human Resource Development at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Her research interests to date are in the areas of emotions, organizational and employee work-life conflict and balance. This work has been presented as paper contributions in collaboration with senior colleagues and experts in the field at major international and UK conferences such as the Academy of Management and (US, Europe - 2015, 2016, 2017), the British Academy of Management conferences (UK - 2014, 2015) and the Work and Family Research Network (US - 2014, 2016, 2018).

Fatima also has an interest in exploring the institutional structures, agencies and supply-side processes (e.g. regulation) that enable/constrain UK high-skill employers (businesses) from fulfilling their demands for a skilled, trained workforce (M.Phil, 2015 – University of Leeds). Other interests include qualitative methods in organizational research, with collaborative work published in conference proceedings, as journal and book articles.
