Personal profile

Alison Statham is Senior Lecturer in Politics, and a member of the Political Studies Association and the Higher Education Academy.

Alison's principal area of expertise is the politics of nationalism, in particular German folk nationalism and its role in the development of conservative ecological theory.

Alison is active in the development of innovative teaching and learning techniques, such as simulation exercise assessments and the use of social networking in learning support. Alison takes lead responsibility within the department for student employability, and works closely with the Faculty's Placement Unit and University Careers service.

Alison is module leader for POPP3000: dissertation; POPP3052: The Politics of Nationalism: and POPP3037: Politics and International Relations in the Workplace. She is a module tutor for POPP1105: Global Comparative Politics; and POPP2003: The Politics of the European Union.
