Dr Bola Babajide is a Senior Lecturer in Accounting and Finance. She joined De Montfort University as a Lecturer in Accounting and Finance in 2016. She received her PhD in Finance from the University of Hull.
Bola's research interests are in the area of Corporate Finance, Corporate Governance, Corporate Liquidity and Risk Management, Derivatives usage, and Small and Medium Enterprise (SMEs) Finance. She is a member of The British Accounting and Finance Association (BAFA) and British Academy of Management (BAM).
Bola has published articles in leading accounting and finance journals. Her current research projects focus on the alternative sources of finance (trade credit), corporate social responsibility, financial distress and corporate governance. She serves as a reviewer for Journal of Corporate Governance and the Malaysian Journal of Economic Studies.
Prior assuming the role of Programme Leader of BA Accounting joints, Bola was the Deputy Programme Leader of BA Accounting and Finance. She teaches undergraduate, postgraduate and professional courses in accounting and finance including MBA Global and ACCA programmes. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and holds Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education.
Bola enjoys learning Spanish in her spare time.
