Beverly Vickerstaff has held a variety of roles, within the Faculty, over a 30-year career at DMU, including Interim PVC/Dean, Associate Dean Academic; Head of the Department of Accounting and Finance; and Head of Quality.
Beverly’s initial qualification was as a Chartered Accountant and she became an FCA in 1989. Later she graduated with a BSc in Mathematical Sciences from the Open University and an MSc in Accounting and Finance from DMU. In 2018 she became a Reader in Leadership, Learning and Teaching.
As Head of Accounting and Finance she ran one of the largest Accounting and Finance Departments in the country. Its success has been underpinned by its outstanding teaching record and excellent exemption profile. She commenced work in the Department as a part-time lecturer before taking up a full-time position as a Senior Lecturer in financial accounting and taxation before gaining a Principal Lecturer position. Over the years she has acted as module leader, programme leader, personal tutor, placement supervisor, admissions tutor, undergraduate provisions co-ordinator, PSRB manager and graduation reader. Prior to commencing her academic career Beverly worked within the accounting profession and as an accountant in industry.
Beverly enjoys finding time to spend ballroom dancing and has three grown up daughters and three grandchildren of whom she is exceptionally proud.
