Personal profile

Amina’s research focuses on migrant women and their inclusion into leadership and entrepreneurship. She places emphasis on the woman’s lens, working across corporations, small and medium enterprises (SME) and individual businesses or sole proprietorship. She aligns her research with the current international discourse on gender balance in leadership, and the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals; #SDG5 - Gender Equality and #SDG10 - Reducing Inequalities. Amina is a successful holder of a £20,000 two-year research and development grant to help migrant women identify, develop, and access leadership positions.

Amina’s expertise is in leadership development coaching, diversity and inclusion consultancy, and managing people. She helps organisations to develop their human capital by engaging migrants into leadership and decision-making positions. She has over 20 years’ experience in transformation, service improvement, business development, and commissioning gained at management level in the NHS, voluntary sector, academia, and local authority. She is the founder and owner of Diverse Cultures Publishing, an independent publishing business that provides book writing coaching and independent publishing services. She has personally written, co-authored and edited over 20 books.

Additionally, Amina speaks and presents at conferences both in the UK and other countries. She has worked on projects for the University of London – London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and University of Zambia and has papers published in high profile journals including; the International Journal on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights, and the International Journal of Tuberculosis and Lung Disease. I believe in the power of a personal story to change lives. I am passionate about helping people in all spheres of life. As a practitioner I know I can’t physically help everyone, so I do this through books. I write books as well as help others to write and share the knowledge, their life stories and collaborate.
