Dr. Amal Ahmad Khair is a senior lecturer in Accounting and Finance of the Faculty of Business and Law at Leicester Castle Business School, DMU. She has more than ten years of experience in teaching and research in Accounting and Finance. She was previously an internal auditor at one of the biggest banks in Malaysia (i.e. Maybank) and also a lecturer at many public universities in Malaysia.
Before joining De Montfort University, she was a lecturer at Hull University Business School, University of Hull. Her PhD was from Essex University and entitled “Locating fraudulent accounting practices in Malaysia: Foucauldian perspective”. Her PhD research focuses on fraudulent practices among corporations and accountability structures in place within Malaysia context.

Dr. Amal's primary research interests are accounting fraud/bribery/corruption, fraudulent accounting practices, auditing, ethics, and corporate governance.
