Personal profile

Dr Alexandra-Paraskevi Chytiri is a Lecturer in HRM (VC2020). She holds a PhD in Human Resource Management from Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB) (Greece). She also holds an MSc in General Management and an MA in Human Resource Management in Hospitality, both from University of Kent, UK. Her bachelor degree was on Business Administration, from University of Piraeus, Greece. She has undergone extensive training on Research Methodology, provided by University of Kent, University of Utrecht, the British Academy of Management (BAM) and AUEB.

She is a Visiting Lecturer in HRM in Hospitality at the International University of Greece. She also teaches Tourism and Hospitality Management at the online program of University of Piraeus. She has taught at the undergraduate, postgraduate level and at the executive MBA programs at University of Kent, University of Piraeus, Athens University of Economic and Business, University of Patras, Hellenic International University and IST College (in the programs of London Southbank University and the Catholique University of Lyon). Her teaching focuses on Human Resource Management, International HRM, HRM in Tourism and Hospitality, Organisations and People Management, Cross-cultural Management, International Management, Organisational Behaviour and Research Methodology.

Her research focuses on the Relationship of Human Resource Management and Organisational Performance, examining the causality in the relationship by using longitudinal research. Her research interests also include Human Resource Management in Economic Crisis periods, Best Human Resource Management Practices, Human Resource Management Practices in Hospitality, International and Comparative Human Resource Management, Organisational Culture, Employee competencies, Employee Performance and Relationship Marketing.

She has attended numerous conferences worldwide. Her articles have been published in conference proceedings, edited books, magazines and journals.

She is a member of the British, European and American Academy of Management, as well as a member of the People, Organisation and Work Research group of De Montfort University and the Human Resource Management Laboratory of AUEB. She is an editor of the Journal of Organisational and Innovation Studies and for the American Academy of Management Conferences.
