Personal profile

Rob Brannen is Head of the School of Visual & Performing Arts. The School contains programmes in Arts & Festivals Management, Dance, Drama, Fine Art, Foundation Art & Design, Performing Arts and Photography & Video.

Rob has published, presented papers and led workshops in the areas of pedagogy and performance, new theatre writing and the politics of arts funding.

He is a Teacher Fellow of De Montfort University, holds a National Teaching Fellowship award for individual excellence in teaching and is Vice-President of the International University Theatre Association

He is Chair of UK Young Artists (Arts Council National Portfolio Organisation) and a Trustee of Leicester YMCA, with a brief for The Y Theatre and Community Arts.

Rob has been an External Examiner at 6 UK Universities and External Adviser with the Open University and other HEIs. He is currently a member of the Office For Students' Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) panel for the Creative Arts and Design subjects.
