Fees and funding 2017/18

One of the first questions you're likely to ask about university is how much will it all cost? Going to university represents a real investment in your future and there is plenty of financial support available to students for both tuition fees and living expenses.

Undergraduate tuition fees

For 2017/18 undergraduate full-time home students tuition fees will be £9,250

A tuition fee loan, up to £9,250 a year, will be available to students to cover tuition fee costs.

Further information about the change is available on our tuition fees news story.

The Vice-Chancellor's Sports Scholarships

The Vice-Chancellor's Sports Scholarships provide students with the opportunity to develop their sporting performance while studying at DMU. Eligible students will be awarded up to £6,000 of support.

Stephen Lawrence Professional Scholarship

The Stephen Lawrence Professional Scholarship provides successful applicants with 50% off the cost of tuition fees and a £3,500 cash bursary each academic year.

The scholarship is open to students wishing to study LLB (Hons) Law, BA (Hons) Journalism and BA (Hons) Architecture.

LoveEU Bundle for 2017 entry

DMU welcomes students from more than 130 countries and to help reassure EU students, DMU has created the LoveEU Bundle, which includes:

  • A payment of £150 to EU students coming to DMU from outside of the UK to study a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate taught course at DMU in September 2017.

  • Tuition fees guaranteed to remain at UK home-rates for entry September 2017 and January 2018 for the length of the course of study.

  • Ticket giveaways to see Leicester City Football Club and Leicester Tiger Rugby Club games – official partners of DMU.

  • Silver Membership* of the Queen Elizabeth 2 Diamond Jubilee Leisure Centre and Gym (worth £135 for whole year).

Eligible students will be contacted in October 2017 after enrolment processes are complete with details of how to receive the payment. Please keep an eye on your DMU email address for details.

The final deadline for the return of details from students joining DMU wishing to take up the Love EU bundle in September 2017 will be Friday 19 January 2018

NHS funding

The government is changing the way in which students beginning nursing, midwifery and speech and language therapy courses are funded.
