Terms and conditions
In order to qualify for a De Montfort University (DMU) bursary or scholarship you must meet all of the following criteria:

Be regarded as a Home/UK status student for tuition fees

Be studying an eligible, full-time HEFCE-funded course for which the tuition fees charged to you are £9,000

Bursaries and scholarships are not available to students whose tuition fees are being paid by the NHS, Probation Service or any other body

You must apply for any local authority funding within nine months of starting the course

You must sign the student declaration section of the PN1/PR1 form

You must ensure that sponsors have signed their declaration on the PN1/PR1 form

You must provide the Students Loans Company/Student Finance England with your bank details

You must achieve at least a 65 per cent average mark at the end of each year of your studies to receive the scholarship in the following year (except placement years, see below)

You must not have studied in higher education previously. This is a general condition, however, individual circumstances may be considered
General information

Bursaries and scholarships are normally paid directly into the student bank account by the Student Loans company on behalf of DMU

Bursaries and scholarships are normally paid each year of the course
-
Regional bursaries and all scholarships are not normally awarded during placement years.

Students must be enrolled on and attending the course when the bursary and/or scholarship payment is made

Any bursary or scholarship payment made by DMU/SLC after a student has interrupted their studies or withdrawn from the university will normally be recovered from the student

Any bursary or scholarship payment made by DMU/SLC in error OR paid as a result of false information submitted will normally be recovered from the student

The deadline for the approval and payment of bursaries and scholarships is normally the end of the summer term. In 09/10 this will be 18 June 2010. Normally, no further payments will be made after this date
