Student accommodation at De Montfort University

We know that finding the right place to live at university, where you will feel comfortable and secure, is vital. That’s why we aim to provide university-sourced accommodation for all our new UK Undergraduate and International students who request it.

These pages give you an introduction to our student accommodation options in Leicester, both on and off campus, university-sourced and privately rented. Our Housing Office team, part of Student Services at DMU, are here to help you find the right place to live during your studies.

At DMU we have around 3,500 university-sourced rooms in 11 modern Halls of Residence, all on, or within walking distance, of our City Campus. Some are owned by the University, and the rest are managed by private providers. Find out who lives in our accommodation.

New for 2010, you will be able to book your accommodation online once you have chosen DMU as your first choice and have a Firm (Conditional Firm or Unconditional Firm) offer of a place at DMU (subject to availability and eligibility).

Many of our students live in privately rented accommodation, within easy reach of campus. Our Housing Office team can offer help and advice to help you to source this when you need to.

If you would like to visit/revisit the Campus to tour the Halls of Residence (from the outside only though as it isn’t possible to look inside when students are resident) you can book a Campus Tour and one of our Student Ambassadors will be happy to show you around.
