The upper room chapel The upper room chapel is open at the same times as the upper room and provides space for quiet reflection and prayer. It also holds weekday services and services on special occasions.
The chaplaincy team are available to offer pastoral care. We are mainly here to listen, and to provide a safe space for students and staff to share their concerns.
Term Time Services and Events (times may change) The following services and events are open to all.
Chaplaincy Events The DMU Chaplaincy holds an annual Christmas Carol Service for students, staff and visitors in the Campus Centre. Christian Union Events at the Cathedral Information about Chaplaincy Events with Leicester Cathedral can be found on their Young People and Students webpage. Charles Frears Campus Every Tuesday from 12 noon.
Muslim Prayer facilities are to be found in the Portland Building basement on the Leicester City Campus.
The Chaplaincy holds a contact list for representatives of Baha'i, Buddhist, Christian, Hindu, Jain, Jewish, Muslim, and Sikh faiths. This is available on the intranet. The Students’ Union has a number of religious student societies. Contact them via Freshers’ Fayre or the Students’ Union pigeonholes.
