Student support
Going to university is an exciting time, but there may still be moments of uncertainty where you will welcome some guidance. The student support team is dedicated to helping you deal with a wide variety of potential issues before, during and after your studies.
Whether you having trouble finding accommodation and settling in, or if you are looking for academic support during your studies, the student support team is there to help you throughout your whole journey at DMU.
Academic support
As a university student, the way in which you study can be very different to school or further education. At DMU we have dedicated resources to ensure that you are supported during your transition and throughout your studies.
Disability support
The Disability Advice and Support service helps students with a wide range of physical and sensory disabilities, medical conditions and specific learning differences (SpLD).
Student Advice Centres
Each Faculty has its own Student Advice Centre (SAC), these are the first point of call for all learning support enquiries. The main function of each SAC is to help, support and advise students during their time at DMU.
Health and wellbeing
We want to make sure you're healthy and happy at DMU which is why we are investing £8m on a brand new sports centre. There is a sports centre and doctor's surgery on campus to keep your body healthy. There is also a counselling team and non-denominational religious support available to provide confidential support if you are feeling under pressure or are keen to fulfil your potential.
Pre-enrolment
In your first week there are a variety of events and entertainment, giving you the chance to make friends and find out about housing, healthcare, money and welfare, library services and much more.
