Gregg Nunney - English graduate
"I arrived at DMU in 2011 as a mature student with the straightforward aim of completing an English degree so I could retrain as a teacher. I can honestly say that what I expected to be ‘a means to an end’ has gone on to be one of the most important and enriching experiences of my life. Considering I had not experienced education for nearly fifteen years, and that I was considerably older than the majority of people on the course, at no point did I feel out of place or isolated.
"The sense of community amongst students and staff is fantastic, even though I only commuted to Leicester for workshops and lectures. The support is second to none, and the opportunity to learn from experts in fields as broad as Renaissance Drama, Modernism and Adaptation certainly adds to the experience.
"I would not hesitate to recommend DMU whatever your age or personal circumstances. Every student is just as important and, regardless of my initial aim, the degree has changed me and my outlook on life for the better."
