High Dependency Neonatal Nursing
This is a step up from the Foundations module and will build on the key areas of specialist knowledge and the specialist clinical practice that underpins the management of infants who require High Dependency nursing. The module content includes the critical analysis of the nursing management of the infant who requires the level of care and will consider the relationship between the altered anatomy and physiology of these infants and their clinical management.
Current developments in specialist practice will be reviewed, the policies and the resources for this health care provision examined and a critical appraisal of the role and professional responsibilities of registrants within neonatal High Dependency care undertaken. This module will also encourage the appropriate norms, values and attitudes for registrants caring for these infants and families.
The module content has been redesigned to support the registrant with their professional revalidation.
Must be active on the NMC Register and have evidence of recent study, at an appropriate level
Priority will be given to holders of Foundations of neonatal nursing credits
