Advances Statistics and Data Analysis

This is a Master’s level module designed to extend skills and knowledge of numerical data analysis. Module HEST5016, is a pre-requisite, where basic inferential statistics are introduced. HEST 5017 uses real data sets in SPSS to explore receiver operator characteristics, reliability, exploratory factor analysis, regression analyses and power analysis.

The module is delivered as distance learning in semester two, although open workshops are available to give support, as is individual tutorial, face to face, or by electronic media. The module provides a thorough preparation for the conduct of a doctoral level dissertation involving the handling of complex data sets

  • Ability to study at Masters level (minimum of 2.2 first degree OR evidence of degree level study) and evidence of recent study.

The module forms part of the Master’s in Research (Applied Health Studies).
