The Bloomberg Trading Room
De Montfort University (DMU) continues to invest in facilities to enhance student experience and employability. One of the latest developments is The Bloomberg Trading Room, which will give Economics and Accounting and Finance students’ access to Bloomberg market data, analytics and information.
Comprising of 21 Bloomberg terminals, the Trading Room will provide simulation of what it is like to work in the financial industry and provide experience of a real life trading floor environment. The dedicated Trading Room is located on the second floor of the purpose built Hugh Aston building.
The Bloomberg financial information software is widely used in the industry to make decisions in areas of macro-economic policy-making, portfolio management, central banking and risk analysis. Students will be able to use terminals to get an idea of real-time stock and bond prices and news on businesses, industry trends and the wider global market.
Allowing students to use the programme whilst studying will help to enhance their employability skills after graduation, which is highly emphasised in all Faculty of Business and Law courses.
