Information for parents and carers Starting University is a major step for students and it has an effect on the lives of their parents and families. At Student Services we understand this which is why we have put some useful information together for you about the support available for students at DMU. Student Services is here to support the non-academic elements of a student’s life at university that are so vital for success. There is plenty of support available for our students, all they have to do is access it! Student Services at DMU has a modern, dynamic approach to its student support provision, including a state of the art Student Services Centre in Gateway House, which operates a drop in style service called Ask Here. This approach allows all students to access our specialist support teams between 9am and 5pm Monday – Friday all year round (except public holidays). Useful links Information for applicants Flying Start is an online toolkit for parents and carers developed by the Consumer Financial Education Body (CFEB). Take a few minutes to make yourself familiar with some of the tools to help you to equip your son or daughter to help them to keep track of their money and avoid difficulties further down the line.
