Research Business and Innovation
The Research Business and Innovation Directorate (RBI) provides specialist and professional support to the DMU research community in the following areas:
Research strategy and policy, performance management and the REF - monitoring research performance against quality indicators, researcher development (eg Athena Swan project on women in science and technology), and the strategic deployment of QR funds (including a Revolving Investment Fund to support innovative cross-university projects).
Knowledge Transfer funding and support - internal and external marketing of funding schemes, development of partnerships, support for bids and successful projects.
Research funding
Research funding support and grants management/finances - specialist expertise and advice about applying for funding (including relationship management with key funding bodies eg research councils, European Commission and charities); pre-award support (including quality assurance processes); post-award support (for contracts, audit reports etc) and grant maximisation.
Information and communications - environment scanning, internal communications, raising external research profile (events, publications and web)
