Government Minister attends DMU Gold event

De Montfort University Leicester (DMU) hosted an event in the Science Museum in London to mark the university being ranked Gold under the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF).

The event was attended by Minister of State for Universities, Science, Research and Innovation Jo Johnson as well as DMU staff.

He said: “I am pleased to join De Montfort University at this event to celebrate their Gold award.

“The Teaching Excellence Framework is refocusing the sector’s attention on teaching to raise standards and give it the same status as research. De Montfort University are one of 59 providers across the country that demonstrated their teaching is of the highest quality.

“The results will help students make informed choices about where and will help ensure higher education equips the next generation of graduates for success.”
