Last year the network held the 2016 International Conference on Grey Systems and Uncertainty Analysis (GSUA2016), supported by The Leverhulme Trust. It aimed to provide a platform for leading scholars in the field of grey systems research to present their work and discuss, from their diverse perspectives, the comparative differences between grey systems and other uncertainty models. Additionally, given that grey systems research has been developed mainly in China, the conference also aimed to further research and debate on the applications of grey systems in different historical and socio-economic environments.

The conference was hosted by De Montfort University, in partnership with Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, from August 8 - 11, 2016. The conference took place in the Hugh Aston building at the De Montfort University Campus, in the city of Leicester, UK; a cosmopolitan, modern city with a long history and much to offer in relation to its artistic programmes, cultural events and sports-related activities.
