Shale gas, care homes and Irish weather – MSc students cover many topics at IESD conference

The broad range of IESD’s Masters courses and students’ interests were demonstrated at the MSc conference where students presented their dissertations.

During the two day conference taking place between 19-20 September 2013 at De Montfort University, there were 16 presentations on a wide range of topics. These included indoor air quality in a low energy care home, the effect of shale gas on renewable energy in the UK, assessing energy efficiency options for a social housing provider in the south west, improving training for low carbon buildings in Malta, and analysis of record breaking weather events in Ireland to see if they really indicated climate change.

Many of the students were distance learners and had never met their lecturers or fellow students before the event.
