MSc Energy and Industrial Sustainability

I was looking for an MSc course and came across the three taught Masters at IESD. I compared the course content and the teaching method to similar courses in the UK and also researched the DMU homepage for more information. The information provided was well structured; the offer was promising and my questions had been answered competently so I chose the IESD.

The content of the course offered a wide variety of topics within the fields of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy. I was previously working in finance in the Renewable Energy sector and wanted to widen my knowledge on the technical aspects of the technologies. Furthermore, I was interested in solutions reducing emissions and energy consumption in the industry. All these topics were covered and the course had the advantage of including technical aspects without being too technical for a finance specialist.

The course provided fundamental knowledge in the topics mentioned before and I could improve my academic skills a lot. I worked together with many people from different cultures and during the year I improved my English as a foreign language. The close and open contact to IESD staff helped to form a familiar atmosphere and increase the quality of the course. The internationality of the course members allowed discussions with insights from totally different point of views.

Post-IESD I worked for a small company developing innovate solutions for ultrasonic applications. Following that, I started in the automotive industry in project finance. I use my newly gained expertise especially in some finance projects for efficient technologies and low emission programs. However, I wish to continue working in the industrial sector and make my contribution towards a more sustainable industry.
