As a result of this project, Tim and Ros contributed to the House of Commons Communities and Local Government Select Committee inquiry into Regeneration in 2011.  The Committee’s final report highlighted the importance of the Centre’s evidence on the need for council’s to take a strategic enabling role.

Current research focuses on:

  • Role of community assets trusts and community land trusts
  • Lesson learning from tackling shrinking cities in the USA and Germany
  • Strategic enabling role of local authorities
  • Tax increment financing (TIF)
