The TEAM research group provides well equipped wet and dry laboratory facilities for applied textile research to MA/MSc and MPhil/PhD research students. This includes fibre processing, chemical treatments and mechanical evaluation which supplements knitting, weaving, garment manufacture and coloration. In addition other DMU schools provide access to 3D printing, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and microbiology.
Supervisory support is provided by subject specialists from across the School and supported by a wider network of advisors.
Master of Philosophy (MPhil) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees can be pursued either by full-time or part-time research in the University or jointly supervised from a research base elsewhere where the student has access to other facilities and support. In this case they are encouraged to spend some time each year at the University.
