Françoise Poos, who is currently completing her PhD entitled "Hidden images: The Making of a National Family Album"at DMU’s Photographic History Research Centre, has been appointed Chair of the national public cultural radio station Radio socioculturelle 100Komma7 in her home country of Luxembourg.
She started her career in the newsroom of the RTL radio programs in Luxembourg, before she was appointed in 1992 as the in-country representative of the European MEDIA Program. Since 2000, Françoise has been a regular contributor to the programmes of 100Komma7, first until 2005 as the radio station's New York correspondent, later on topics related to culture, media and identity.
Her DMU-based research on photography, archive and national identity is also the focus of much interest in Luxembourg where she has been giving lectures and workshops at the University of Luxembourg. In 2012 she curated a major exhibition Edward Steichen: The Bitter Years 1935-41 at the Centre National d’Audiovisuel in Luxembourg and edited the accompanying book published in UK by Thames and Hudson.
