Richard Whitney has been awarded an AHRC-funded doctoral training scholarship by the Midlands3cities consortium. His doctoral thesis, entitled 'Overcoming Distance in C20 America: The Humanistic Savant’s Literary Experience in the Work of H.D. (1886-1961) and Louise Rosenblatt (1904-2005)' is first-supervised by Andy Mousley (DMU) and second-supervised by Professor Martin Halliwell (The University of Leicester).
Tim Fulford is a British Academy Senior Research Fellow, 2014-15. He is working on Collected Letters of Sir Humphry Davy.
The AGM of the European Society for Textual Scholarship will be hosted by the Centre for Textual Studies at De Montfort University, 19-21 November 2015.

'Shakespeare and Japan' - 26 February 2013: This one-day event offered scholars an opportunity to contribute to the international journal, Shakespeare’s special issue on ‘Shakespeare and Japan’, edited by Professor Dominic Shellard. Papers were invited on all aspects of Shakespeare and Japan, ranging from performances, film adaptations, translations and accounts of the plays’ critical reception in Japan.
'Adapting Dickens' - 27 February 2013 : In the year following the bicentenary celebrations of Charles Dickens’ birth, this conference aimed to continue the celebrations by shifting the focus of discussion from the works of Dickens to the varied body of adaptive responses generated by his texts.
'Adapting Historical Narratives' - 28 February 2012 : This one-day conference offered delegates the opportunity to participate in talks ranging from heritage cinema, historical documentaries and docudramas to new-media developments and convergences in the representation and remediation of history. The conference featured leading scholars from the US, Australia, Europe and the UK and was hosted by Claire Monk and Deborah Cartmel (DMU).
