Research Integrity and Ethics Resources

Free Resources
In order to help everyone raise their awareness of these issues, the following free resources are available:

Academy of Management The Ethics of Research and Publishing Video Series
A high quality video series provided by The Academy of Management on a range of research ethics and integrity issues. The Authorship video is particularly useful. (Note: the videos contain American academic terms e.g. faculty member rather than supervisor, but are still highly appicable to all research).

The Lab

In "The Lab: Avoiding Research Misconduct," you become the lead characters in an interactive movie and make decisions about integrity in research that can have long-term consequences. The simulation addresses Responsible Conduct of Research topics such as avoiding research misconduct, mentorship responsibilities, handling of data, responsible authorship, and questionable research practices. Please be aware of cultural differences between the UK and the US, particularly in regard to the way in which research imisconduct is investigated, when undertaking this training.

There are also aa range of other resources from the US Office of Research Integrity.
