LoveEU Bundle for 2017 entry

DMU welcomes students from more than 130 countries, who choose to study with us for many reasons: academic excellence; the rich student experience; links to industry and opportunities to volunteer both locally through #DMUlocal and around the world with #DMUglobal.

To help reassure EU students, DMU has created the LoveEU Bundle* (subject to the following terms), which includes:

  • A payment of £150 to EU students coming to DMU from outside of the UK to study a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate taught course at DMU in September 2017.

  • Tuition fees guaranteed to remain at UK home-rates for entry September 2017 and January 2018 for the length of the course of study.

  • Entry into prize draws to win tickets for Leicester City Football Club and Leicester Tiger Rugby Club games – official partners of DMU.

  • Silver Term academic year Membership of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Leisure Centre and Gym – standard terms and conditions for this membership can be found at: http://www.dmu.ac.uk/about-dmu/dmu-leisure-centre/memberships.aspx.

Postgraduate study: Vice-Chancellor's 2020 scholarships

The Vice-Chancellor's 2020 scholarships provide DMU graduates with a tuition fee discount of up to 50 per cent. The discount is available on selected full-time, part-time and distance learning postgraduate courses running across multiple start dates in the 2017/18 academic session.

The scholarship, based on academic achievement and merit, applies automatically to all DMU Home and EU students who are graduating in 2017 or have graduated within the last two years (2016 or 2015)* and achieved a 2:1 (or equivalent) or above. It is applicable to postgraduate taught programmes as well as research courses including; PhD, MPhil, Master’s by Research and Master’s in Research MRes.

* Courses completed in academic session 2015/16 or 2014/15 will attract a 25 per cent tuition fee discount

Details of which courses are eligible for the discount, along with detailed terms and conditions, can be found on the following faculty pages:

VC2020 also applies to two postgraduate programmes starting April 2017 within the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences, see details here.

To find out more about postgraduate study at DMU, book your place on one of our postgraduate open days.

Tuition fee loan

Tuition fees do not need to be paid upfront and are paid with a government loan which is only repaid after graduation when earnings reach more than £21,000 per year. The amount paid back depends on the amount earned and is likely to be nine per cent of income above £21,000, for example:

  • An income of £21,500, sees the 9% calculation applied to £500, which means a monthly repayment of £4
  • An income of £30,000, sees the 9% calculation applied to £9,000, which means a monthly repayment of £68

The rules applying to EU students who have applied for a place at university from this August to study a course which attracts student support are unchanged. The Student Loan Company (SLC) will assess these applications against existing eligibility criteria, and will provide loans and/or grants in the normal way. Those who are eligible to receive a loan by the SLC will be eligible for the duration of their study on that course.

Students can contact enquiry@dmu.ac.uk, or the GOV.UK website, for information on what support they can receive.
