Year 12 Masterclasses
Year 12 Masterclasses will be taking place on-campus at DMU between Monday 10 June and Friday 5 July 2013. Each day we will be holding a different Masterclass, focussed on a particular course or subject area, and designed to give you a taste of what it’s really like to study at DMU. You’ll have the opportunity to experience a taster lecture, seminar or practical session and explore the campus with one of our current students as well as meet your future lecturers and course mates!
This is a great opportunity if you’re still undecided about whether university is for you, and also if you’re interested in finding out more about a particular subject area which interests you! Most Masterclasses will take place between 9.30pm and 2.30pm and include a complimentary lunch. Bookings will open in May and will be taken via an online booking form on this page (teachers will be able to make group bookings by contacting the Outreach Team.)
See below for the Masterclasses which are already confirmed.

The faculty specific element of the day will focus on the topic of Talent Management, a key issue in contemporary organisations. Once familiar with the concept and what the various authors prescribe as being best practice, you will debate how practical this construct really is. In groups you will consider how you would handle talent management in specific contemporary organisational settings. You will work together to produce an action plan for their organisation, which they will then be presented to the rest of the class. The session will conclude with a debate around the issue of whether talent can or should be managed.
