Meet the school and college team
Interim Senior School and College Liaison Officer for Leicester and Leicestershire
Hi, I’m Vanessa and I’m the Schools and Colleges Liaison Officer for sixth forms and colleges throughout Leicester and Leicestershire. I graduated from university in 2005 with a degree in Psychology and have fond memories of my student life days.
I have over 10 years of experience advising and supporting students through their journey to university and thoroughly enjoy all aspects of my job. I particularly enjoy arranging visits to our campus and giving students the opportunity to experience student life first hand, it’s the best way to sell the benefits of higher education in my opinion.
My particular area of specialism focuses on working with perspective nursing and midwifery students and supporting them with their research and UCAS applications.

School and College Liaison and Enquiries Manager (currently on secondment)
I have had the pleasure of working at DMU for 14 years undertaking a variety of roles in home and international student recruitment. I started out as a Student Advisor, specifically focussed on supporting our local network of FE colleges before moving into a supervisory role leading our operational school and college liaison activity.
Between 2010 and 2012 I spent an exciting two years as the Senior International Officer responsible for South East Asia and enjoyed recruitment visits to Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia and Indonesia.
If you are planning any exotic travels I can heartily recommend all of these locations.I became a father in 2012 and returned to a UK role as School and College Liaison and Enquiries Manager where I lead all school and college activity for year 11 students and above alongside the team looking after all incoming course enquiries. The role is busy and varied with the sector changing dynamically year to year and DMU ever investing and proactively moving forward.
I am lucky to lead a team of natural communicators who all genuinely love their face-to-face work with school and college students. Our mission is to inspire, to inform and to engage and we look forward to working with yourself and your students in the future.
