The focus of the Department of Engineering is knowledge creation and dissemination. We do this through world class research and teaching that is underpinned by our research to provide a first class student experience. The Department continues to enjoy high standing in external rankings for both teaching and research. Engineering is a subject defined by creativity in solving problems. One of the most pressing problems of the early 21st Century is protecting the environment at the same time as advancing technology. We are making our contribution through the development of Environmental Engineering to complement the established and successful Electronic and Mechanical disciplines at the heart of the Department.
