Dr Ian Hunter teaches and researches popular British and American genre cinema, especially cult, exploitation, horror and science fiction films.  He also writes on literary adaptations, most recently on The Lord of the Rings, A Clockwork Orange, and Jaws
 
As I.Q. Hunter, he edited British Science Fiction Cinema (Routledge, 1999) and co-edited Pulping Fictions (1996), Trash Aesthetics (1997), Sisterhoods (1998), Alien Identities (1999), Classics (2000), Retrovisions (2001) and Brit-Invaders! (2005). Currently he is writing books on British Trash Cinema and Cult Adaptations.

Ian co-edits two book series, British Popular Cinema (Routledge) and Screen Adaptations (A & C Black / Methuen) and is also on the steering committee of the Association of Adaptation Studies (http://www.literatureonscreen.com).

Three modules on Cult Film and Horror.  He also tutors MA and PhD students and welcomes enquiries direct from prospective masters and doctoral students, especially in the fields of exploitation, horror and cult film, and screen adaptations.
