School of Nursing and MidwiferyMary Seacole Research Centre (MSRC)![]() The MSRC was set up as a collaborative initiative between De Montfort University and The Royal College of Nursing. Centre staff work closely with colleagues across the University on issues of race and ethnicity in health. Particular research concerns include care planning in a multi-ethnic NHS, employment opportunities and career development of black and minority ethnic staff, and specific ethnic health care needs. Collaborative working with practitioners in health and welfare service agencies and community groups is seen as a priority, to ensure active dissemination and implementation of research findings.
